Lash Extensions on Holiday: Will They Survive the Red Sea?
Yes, if they are applied properly and you give the glue its first day. Here is how one-by-one extensions and express clusters behave in sea, pool, sunscreen and hammam steam, which set to choose for a week versus a weekend, and the handful of rules that keep them on.

The short answer
Lash extensions are waterproof once the adhesive has fully cured, which takes about 24 hours. After that the sea, the pool and a shower do not loosen them; what does is oil, steam, rubbing and time. Book them on your first or second day, keep them dry and away from steam for the first 24 hours, use oil-free sunscreen around the eyes, and a classic one-by-one set will outlast a two-week holiday.
We offer two sets. Eyelash Extensions one by one, EUR 50 and about two hours, where each extension is attached to one natural lash. Express Lash Extensions, EUR 25 and under an hour, where light pre-fanned clusters are placed along the lash line for instant volume.
One by one versus express: which to book
The one-by-one set is the holiday set. Because each extension sits on its own natural lash, it moves with your lashes, survives swimming and lasts three to five weeks, shedding gradually with your natural cycle. It also looks the most natural in daylight, which matters on a beach where everyone is in close-up.
The express set is the weekend set. Clusters give more volume faster and cost half as much, but they sit on several lashes at once, so they are best for a night out, a special day or three or four days of holiday. If you are here for a week or more, or you want to wake up ready every morning of the trip, book the one-by-one set.
What happens in the appointment
You lie down with your eyes closed for the whole treatment, which is why guests describe it as the most restful two hours of the holiday. We start with a consultation on length and curl, cleanse the lashes, place protective gel pads under the eyes, then isolate each natural lash and attach its extension, checking symmetry as we go.
At the end we brush through, inspect the set under good light and run through aftercare. There is no pulling or stinging; if you feel either, say so immediately. The glue is a professional lash adhesive, and the gel pads keep it away from the skin.
The rules that keep them on
Keep them dry for the first 24 hours: no sea, no pool, no steam, no hammam and no sweaty excursion. Book the lashes the afternoon before a quiet morning, not the morning of a boat trip. For the same reason, do the hammam or head spa before the lashes, or at least two days after.
After that, three habits do the work. Use oil-free sunscreen and oil-free makeup remover around the eyes, because oil dissolves the adhesive. Do not rub your eyes, especially after swimming when salt is drying on them; rinse with fresh water and pat dry instead. Brush them each morning with the spoolie we give you, and sleep on your back or side rather than face-down.
Sunscreen, mascara and the hammam
Sunscreen is the one that catches people. Most face sunscreens are oil-based, and oil on the lash line is how a set that should last a month is gone in a week. Use an oil-free or gel sunscreen on the upper face, apply it with a fingertip below the brow and above the cheekbone, and keep it off the lashes themselves.
Mascara is not needed and not recommended on extensions; the whole point is to skip it. If you want more for an evening, a lash-safe water-based mascara on the tips only, removed with oil-free remover, is the limit. Hammam steam and sauna are fine after the first 48 hours, but keep the session short and do not rub a towel across your eyes afterwards.
